Ah I’ll just go by bike. But what about my two kids?
‘Never mind, just take them along’ after all I
won’t be the first riding 4 on a bike!
As long as I arrive back in my kampung.
The picture below may translate what’s playing on your mind!
Before you take any drastic action, THINK and THINK HARD.
Yes you may arrive at your kampung BUT in what condition? In a hearse?
Tips for ‘balik kampung’;
Plan
your departure such that you arrive at your kampung before nightfall. This
is because driving/riding at night poses a lot more challenges.
Don’t
burden your vehicle with more than allowable passengers. Unnecessary
luggage can be left behind..
Make
sure you have enough sleep before starting your journey and that you are
well health wise.
Your
vehicle is in good order.
Be extra cautious on the road because there
are thousands others whom you have to share the road with. These other
people will show many road behaviours which are most likely to be rude and
dangerous to say the least.
There
are bodies which recommend that you travel at certain stipulated time for
stipulated destinations, please do not pressure yourself into following
the said timetable. They are merely suggestions. Start your journey when
you are most alert.
Dr. Moto
has not touched on other safety tips as these have been discussed in past
articles. But one thing you must get right is,
Your Intention,
i.e to go
back home to visit Mum and Dad and other family members and that you shall
take this journey in the most safe manner so that you can arrive home
safely. Bless my journey home and prvide me protection from any unsafe acts. ’
We at Dr. Moto.com.my wish everyone
a happy and safe ‘Aidil Fitri’
